Community Service

WESTconsin Credit Union is a committed partner in our communities, contributing financially and in-kind. We recognize that practicing good corporate citizenship helps raise the social and economic well-being of community residents, strengthens ties among stakeholders, and better positions us to reach out and serve those people in greatest need of affordable financial services.

Making a Difference

WESTconsin Credit Union contributes to worthy causes including the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Junior Achievement, United Way and many local youth and non-profit organizations. Of particular importance, WESTconsin proudly supports  Children's Miracle Network (CMN Hospitals) where donated funds help to support our local CMN Hospitals and patients within our field of membership.

Children's Miracle Network Hospitals

As part of the nationwide Credit Unions for Kids effort, WESTconsin raises an average of $15,000 to $20,000 annually for CMN Hospitals. When you see our CMN Hospitals signs in your local WESTconsin office, you’ll know that we’re gladly doing our part to put a smile on the face of a child. Area children benefitting from our fundraising efforts are patients at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare  in St. Paul, MN, and children in the Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls area in partnership with Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI. The support and care these patients are given is available—in part—because of your generosity. Since 2003, the credit union has raised over $305,000 for Gillette, through a variety of fundraising campaigns.

Volunteerism and Charitable Giving

WESTconsin encourages employees and members to step forward and give back to their communities. Our Volunteer Club  rewards members, youth and adult, for helping to make a difference in the lives of their neighbors and friends. Our staff serve as volunteer helpers and mentors with numerous locally organized groups, including:

  • American Cancer Society

  • American Legion

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters

  • Boy/Girl Scouts

  • Chambers of Commerce and Main Street Associations

  • Community Foundations

  • Food Pantries

  • Habitat for Humanity

  • Junior Achievement

  • Rotary Clubs

  • Special Olympics

Additionally, WESTconsin offices coordinate spring and fall highway clean-up projects and regularly host charitable-giving events including school supply, clothing and holiday gift drives. Donated items are given to area non-profit agencies that distribute them locally. Some offices host free tax preparation services for those who need the assistance during tax season.

Providing assistance to our communities is a way of life for our staff.
