MidAmerica Bank Email Scam

An email claiming to be from the MidAmerica Bank claiming that they are upgrading their computer systems and are asking to confirm your personal profile. It lists a phony telephone number where a representative will be available to take your call. This is a scam. Do not click on any links or give any of your personal information.

NEW! Debit Card & Credit Card Fraud - Updated May 5, 2008!!

WCU has recently been notified of about several debit and credit card fraud cases. The majority of the cases are debit card related. At this time it appears that the fraud is only impacting Menomonie WCU members. Other financial institutions have been impacted as well.

Due to the number of recent fraud cases WCU has blocked all signature-based debit card transactions in Florida, Georgia, New York and Texas.  Members can still use the debit card as a PIN-based transaction or they may contact us to be excluded from the block to allow the member to use the debit card as a signature-based transaction. 

Be sure to take the time to review your debit and credit card transactions. If you notice anything suspicious please contact WCU.

Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Rebate Email Scam

An email claiming to be from the IRS has started circulating the internet. The email "informs you that you are eligible to receive a tax refund" This email is a scam. Do not click on any links or give  out any personal information - delete the email immediately.
