Gregory Boehmer
After 39 years working on the railroad―he had the distinction of being, at 20
years old, the youngest engineer on the Milwaukee Road―Greg Boehmer now enjoys
retirement on a 100-acre hobby farm financed with WESTconsin
Credit Union. He and his wife, Sally, moved “out to the country,” as he calls
his home, back in 2002.
But Greg is far from idle!
In addition to coordinating planting and harvesting of crops for the produce
stand that has helped fund a local church since 2008, Greg is working on various
solar and wind power projects while also restoring vintage farm equipment (“I
love old tractors,” he admits). He purchased a new ATV, also financed through
WESTconsin, and joined a local riding club as well.
“I’ve got my own backyard as a playground,” he says.
