The Cernohous Family: A Growing Family in More Ways Than One

The Cernohous family knows all about growing—whether it’s their expanding family, or the sturdy pines on John’s tree farm. John Cernohous grew up in a small house on a piece of property that his father expanded by purchasing the adjacent farmland, where his parents built a new home. Years later, the day after he married Jenny, the newlyweds moved into a house just across the way that he built with his father, brother and cousin. They’ve since filled it with four kids, as well as additional children for whom Jenny provides daycare.

The whole family has accounts at WESTconsin—even the baby—and so does John’s thriving tree business. “I know if I need something I can walk in and talk to somebody I know and somebody who knows me,” John says. “Even if I’m not their largest customer, I’m treated like I am.”
