Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can I change my address online?
To protect your personal information, we require proof of
your identity before changing an address on any account. This can be done in
person at any of our offices, or over the phone by calling your local WESTconsin
Credit Union office or (800) 924-0022 and speaking with a credit union
representative who will confirm your identity.
Q. Why am I being limited for transfers from my savings
account?
During any statement period, the federal government
regulates that you may not make more than six withdrawals or transfers from your
savings to another credit union account of yours’ or to a third party by means
of a preauthorized, automatic, or computer transfer or telephonic order of
instruction. No more than three of the six transfers may be made by check,
draft, debit card (if applicable), or similar order to a third party.
The following list, in each occurrence, would count as one of
these transactions:
Since this regulation applies to savings accounts, you may want to consider
transferring some of your automatic payments or other unsigned transactions to a
WESTconsin Credit Union
checking account.
Q. How do I request a stop payment on a check?
If you need to keep a check from clearing your account,
please stop in any office or call our Service Center at (800) 924-0022. You may
also use our
email form
to
initiate a stop payment request, finalized by one of our credit union
representatives calling you to confirm the process.
Q. How do I change payments or transfers taken from my direct deposit, or stop a specific payment from happening?
It’s important that we confirm your identity before
proceeding with any request to make changes on your account. Please stop into
your local WESTconsin Credit Union office, or call our Service Center at
(800) 924-0022, and a representative will assist you.
Q. I’m traveling and don’t want my credit or debit card blocked. What do I need to do?
To protect your account, we monitor credit and debit card
transactions for suspicious activity. This may include transactions in locations
that vary from the norm for which your card would be blocked. If you are taking
a trip, please call our Service Center at (800) 924-0022 and discuss your
traveling plans.
