Several sections of the recently passed Economic Aid Act include improvements to forgiveness processing for borrowers with loans under $150,000. In addition to defining streamlined processing, it includes new benefits for some borrowers that are only available if their existing PPP loan has not been processed for forgiveness. You have until the maturity date of the loan to apply and SBA will pay any accrued interest as well as the principal on the forgiveness amount. We continue to recommend waiting to apply for forgiveness to ensure you can take advantage of developing improvements, guidance, and potential increased benefits with limited to no risk of additional costs to you.
