Amery, WI—WESTconsin Credit Union is pleased to announce Jose Alvarez to the role of Financial Advisor with WESTconsin Investment Advisors, serving Amery, Barron, and Baldwin. Alvarez joined WESTconsin Credit Union four years ago as a Member Services Representative at the Amery office.

Alvarez earned his bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security from American Military University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Business Administration at UW-Whitewater. Alvarez was in the Army for 10 years, and while on active duty he served as a paratrooper at the 173rd Airborne in Italy. He has also served in the National Guard for 6 years, where he is currently a Staff Sergeant and serves as a Reconnaissance Team Leader with the Wisconsin National Guard.

Alvarez has helped WESTconsin members reach their goals as a financial coach, “I like the idea of helping members secure their finances in a more involved way than simply opening accounts.” He continues, “as a Financial Advisor, I will be able to serve our members in a similar way, but on a significantly higher level.”

Alvarez resides in Turtle Lake with his wife, Becca, and two dogs, Roxy and Griffin. They enjoy the outdoors and have travelled all over the country to hike at National Parks, including at Glacier, Rocky Mountain, and the North Cascades. They also love to travel internationally, and particularly enjoy tropical locations to see the birds and other unique animals. He can be contacted at (800) 924-0022 ext. 7655 or jalvarez@WESTconsincu.org.

WESTconsin Credit Union has been serving members since 1939, and membership is open to anyone who lives or works in the Wisconsin counties of Barron, Buffalo, Burnett, Chippewa, Clark, Dunn, Eau Claire, Jackson, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Rusk, St. Croix, Sawyer, Taylor, Trempealeau, and Washburn, or the Minnesota counties of Anoka, Chisago, Dakota, Goodhue, Isanti, Ramsey, Wabasha, and Washington, with a $5 minimum deposit in a Membership Savings Account.
