Greetings from WESTconsin’s CEO

October 2025

Dear Member,

As the leaves begin to turn and we head into the busy holiday season, I’m feeling grateful for all that we’ve accomplished so far this year. And there’s still more to come!

October is National Cooperative Month

Since 1948, National Cooperative Month has been celebrated around the country. As a financial cooperative, we pride ourselves on doing what’s best for the member, whether that’s offering low to no fees, providing financial education, or donating to local organizations.

The UN has also declared 2025 the “Year of the Cooperative.” This designation reminds us of the importance of cooperatives in our daily life and their goal of doing what’s best for members.

This year, we’re celebrating International Credit Union Day by donating 10 cents for every swipe up—to $1,000—on Thursday, October 16. Every swipe will help raise money for the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Coalition.

SEE WHY WE'RE CELEBRATING COOPERATIVE MONTH

Serving Our Communities

The last few months have included a variety of activities in our local communities, from parades and National Night Out to golf outings and volunteering. We also completed our annual Scrub-A-Dub Drive. You helped us raise $1,132 and collect over 2,400 hygiene products and school supplies! Thank you for sharing your generosity with local students. It makes an incredible impact.

Bob’s House for Dogs and Coco’s Heart Dog Rescue each received $805.45 as part of our eSmart Checking Account donation. Members vote to decide what type of organization will receive a donation each quarter. You can be a part of it! Learn more about eSmart checking accounts.

Deposit Cash at WESTconsin ATMs Soon

We’ve heard your request for cash deposit-enabled ATMs, and we’re excited to announce they’re coming soon! Over the next few weeks, we’ll be updating our ATMs so that you can deposit cash in addition to checking your balance and making a withdrawal.

As we head into the holiday season, I want to remind you to stay vigilant about potential fraud and scams. Fraudsters know this is a busy time for many and will take advantage of increased spending habits. If you already aren’t doing so, utilize Card Management to set controls for how your WESTconsin debit and credit cards are used. Monitor your transactions through Online Banking or our Mobile App to keep aware of any suspicious activity.

Sending gratitude and wishes for a happy holiday season,

Jim Wookey
