WESTERN WI— On Monday, October 13, WESTconsin Credit Union employees will be volunteering with 34 different organizations throughout Western Wisconsin. As part of WESTconsin’s first Community CARE Day and in conjunction with The Wisconsin Credit Union League’s CU Community Days, team members will be assisting with a variety of opportunities. These range from coordinating activities in senior living facilities, cleaning and organizing at emergency shelters and cancer treatment centers, and readying outdoor spaces for winter. Some of the largest volunteer groups include:

  • 41 employees volunteering at Irvine Park in Chippewa Falls to assist with the holiday light set up
  • 49 employees volunteering at humane societies and animal shelters
  • 55 employees volunteering at food pantries and food programs
  • 85 employees volunteering to help clean local parks, trails, and highways

The acronym CARE stands for collaborative, accountable, respectful, and excellence. These qualities represent the core values of WESTconsin team members.

“This initiative reflects the heart of our mission—people helping people—and gives our team members the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the communities we serve. Community CARE Day is where we get to roll up our sleeves and live out our values,” said Jenny Rathke, Vice President - Member Advocacy.
