WESTconsin Credit Union Celebrates National Cooperative Month

Since 1948, National Cooperative Month has been celebrated around the country. This year has also been declared the Year of the Cooperative by the United Nations. As a financial cooperative, WESTconsin Credit Union will be honoring International Credit Union Day (ICUD) on Thursday, October 16. For every debit or credit card swipe made on ICU Day, WESTconsin will donate $0.10—up to $1,000—to the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Coalition. This donation supports their mission to advocate for public policy, education, and research that improves the lives of those affected by breast cancer.

Support Local Kids with World’s Finest Chocolate®

Annually, throughout the month of October, WESTconsin hosts the World’s Finest Chocolate® fundraiser benefitting Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) - Credit Unions for Kids. Proceeds will help children when they need it the most through the efforts of CMN hospitals, those in WESTconsin’s service region being Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul and Gundersen Health Systems in La Crosse. Last year, through the two major fundraisers the credit union hosts, World’s Finest Chocolate and Chain of Hearts, over $12,000 was raised for Credit Unions for Kids. WESTconsin Credit Union invites members and the public to take part in these events as we continue to support our community and celebrate the cooperative spirit that credit unions are built on.
