Greetings from WESTconsin’s CEO!
Dear Members,
Happy Fall! As we start to look ahead to the holiday season and year end, I am grateful to reflect on all we’ve accomplished and all that’s yet to come for WESTconsin Credit Union.
I’m proud to announce that, so far in 2026, our fundraising campaigns have raised nearly $11,000 for community partners throughout our service area. In addition to that, we have contributed around $141,000 in charitable donations to organizations that support our Mission of Giving. Deposit growth this year exceeds $96 million, and loan growth has surpassed $57 million. These milestones reflect the continued growth of our membership and the trust you place in us every day. Thank you for choosing us to be your financial partner.
With the back-to-school season well underway, WESTconsin is a proud advocate of financial literacy for youth, with a large footprint of financial education efforts in our communities. This is why we partner with four high school offices to provide students with professional experience and convenient access to financial services. Our Ca$h Course program, a financial simulation designed to guide participants through the day in the life of an adult, has reached nearly 950 students in eight high schools so far this year. In August, we held our Scrub-A-Dub Drive, where over $3,000 and more than 2,700 personal hygiene items were collected to help support local students. I’m sending best wishes to all students, parents, and teachers for a fantastic school year ahead.
October is National Cooperative Month. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we are owned by our members. That means we proudly invest our profits back into our membership through things like higher dividend rates, lower interest rates and fees, and community involvement. To celebrate International Credit Union Day on October 15, we will be supporting the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Coalition by donating $0.10 for every debit or credit card swipe made, up to $1,000. In partnership with The Wisconsin Credit Union League, we will also be participating in our second annual Community CARE Day with over 400 employees volunteering their time and efforts at over 40 local organizations.
This October, we’re also wrapping up the exterior remodel on our Menomonie–Downtown office. As our first office location, we’re proud to honor the history of this building and the many years of service it represents, while investing in improvements that will allow us to continue serving members for many years to come.
