Happy Spring from WESTconsin’s CEO!
Dear Member,
Happy spring! I hope this message finds you well as we welcome this new season. As I reflect on the past winter and on what’s to come, I know I’m looking forward to more fresh air, sunshine, and another fantastic quarter for WESTconsin.
With warmer weather on the horizon and spring cleaning on the mind, don’t forget to add reviewing your finances to your checklist! An annual review of your accounts to make sure everything is up to date and how you expect is a great way to keep your information secure, protect yourself from fraud, and stay organized and confident in your overall financial picture.
I am proud to share some of the ways we’ve already contributed to our communities in 2026. In February, we hosted the Hearts of Hope fundraiser, supporting our area’s Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals, and raised over $2,000 to help give young patients the critical care they deserve. In March, we held our annual Spring Food Drive, collecting non-perishable food items and monetary donations, impacting 16 community partners across our service area to help support our commitment to fighting food insecurity.
This April, WESTconsin is excited to celebrate Youth Financial Literacy Month. This nationwide initiative to raise awareness and promote the importance of financial education in our communities directly serves our mission as a credit union. Our goal is to engage with our youth and young adults to help provide essential money management skills and set them up for long-term financial success. Throughout the month of April, we will have a $MART Bingo activity available in-office, at participating community partner locations, and digitally online, featuring age-appropriate financial education tasks to complete.
On March 10, 2026, WESTconsin held its 86th Annual Membership Meeting via Microsoft Teams. I’m happy to share that 2025 was a year of great financial success for the credit union, and the full 2025 Annual Report is now available on our website to review. Prior to the meeting, members voted in one new Board of Director position after Dale Dahlke announced his retirement. We are deeply grateful to Dale for his many contributions over 21 years on the Board and we wish him a happy retirement! We are just as excited to welcome Linda Powers who was elected to serve a three-year term. The 2026 Board members now include Chairperson Gerald Wolf, Vice Chairperson Karen Flug, Treasurer Todd Leipnitz, and Directors Linda Powers, Colleen Mensing, Sarah Noreen, and Jesse Singerhouse.
Wishing you all a wonderful spring and thank you for your continued membership at WESTconsin!
Sincerely,
Jim Wookey
