Welcome to WESTconsin!
In our 81 years serving you, we have seldom experienced such trying times. Our mission at WESTconsin Credit Union is to help our members achieve financial success. For some members, that goal feels like one that becomes harder to reach as we continue to watch COVID-19 affect our lives in so many ways. Knowing that, WESTconsin continues to prioritize supporting our members and communities, while striving to be as safe as possible every day.
Office Update and Online Options
Our office lobbies are open! While WESTconsin has always believed in a clean and friendly environment for our members, we have implemented additional measures to keep our members and employees safe. These safety measures include asking all employees and members wear facemasks while in our offices, social distancing with floor markers, acrylic tabletop barriers and hand sanitizing stations. Office visitors will also notice restricted usage of water and/or coffee stations, foot door pulls on restrooms and more. As a reminder, members can access account information and take care of many everyday banking needs via WESTconsin Online, the Mobile App, and text banking. You can also enjoy immediate access to your WESTconsin accounts 24 hours a day via touch-tone phone. We encourage you to learn more about these options.
As many of you may be aware, WESTconsin Credit Union had to postpone our Annual Membership Meeting. We are disappointed we will not be able to gather this year in person but look forward to hosting our first virtual membership meeting on September 22 at 6 p.m. From the comfort and safety of your own home, you can virtually hear reports and results of three director elections. More information about how to vote and attend will be available soon.
We know many of our members choose WESTconsin because along with our loans and services, we provide a helping hand and encouraging word. This has never been truer than over the last few months. In response to members affected by economic hardship during the pandemic, late fees for consumer loans, mortgages and credit cards were waived. Changes have also been made to mobile deposit limits, which provides members more immediate access to deposits made via mobile deposit.
In April, food banks across western Wisconsin received funds totaling $45,000 from WESTconsin to help support their mission and provide support for those experiencing hardship. Due to school closures and unemployment, food banks saw an increase of more than 60% in some area communities. We hope this donation helped bring some relief to those in need.
We recently wrapped up our annual Back to School Drive! Due to COVID-19. We recognize the needs of area students and schools may be different this year, so changed the format of our annual school supply drive slightly. Funds were collected for the Back to School Drive from July 27-August 9 online via Paypal, over the phone, and in offices. WESTconsin employees celebrated the end of the drive by wearing their favorite School Spirit Apparel in exchange for a $5 donation. The credit union happily matched all funds raised dollar for dollar to help area schools in need.

Founded in 1939, WESTconsin Credit Union is one of the region's strongest financial services provider. Our history takes us back to primarily serving the Menomonie area agricultural community, then operating as Menomonie Farmers Credit Union. We expanded in membership base over the next several years and merged with other small credit unions in the region.
In the summer of 1990, we recognized this growth by changing our name to WESTconsin Credit Union. Today, our field of membership footprint includes twenty-six counties across west central Wisconsin and east central Minnesota with offices in Altoona, Amery, Baldwin, Barron, Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, Ellsworth, Hudson, Menomonie, New Richmond, Prescott, River Falls and Spring Valley, Wisconsin.
We exist to serve the financial needs of our member-owners (account holders) and our communities. As a not-for-profit financial services organization, we are owned and operated by and for our members. Our members receive dividends back on a daily basis in the form of low-fee products and services. In addition, our not-for-profit status enables us to operate at a lower cost than many for-profit institutions, and helps WESTconsin offer competitive loan and savings rates to our members. We're based right here in your community, owned by community members like you.
