Welcome & Our History

Welcome to WESTconsin!

Greetings and Happy New Year! I hope you and your family had a safe and healthy holiday season. Cheers to the WESTconsin members, employees, and those in the communities we serve for your support and encouragement throughout 2022. I’m so proud of all that we’ve accomplished together and look forward to a new year full of opportunities!

I am thrilled that the new WESTconsin office in Baldwin, located at the corner of Highway 63 and Cedar Street, is on track to open this spring. Our team is gearing up for a smooth transition from the old building to the new, which will have the space, equipment, and technology to provide the best in member service possible. After the difficult decision to close our Spring Valley office next month, we invite our Spring Valley members to be among the first to view the new Baldwin office. We will share grand opening details in the coming months.

Please mark your calendar for our 83rd Annual Membership Meeting! We would like to invite all member/owners of WESTconsin Credit Union to attend on Tuesday, March 28 at 7 p.m. in the Menomonie High School auditorium. You will have the chance to vote on three Board of Directors open seats, as well as hear reports on the credit union and be entered into a gift card give away. Voting begins at 5:30 p.m. If you are unable to attend the annual meeting and vote in person, you may request an absentee ballot between February 23 and March 16, 2023, by calling our Service Center at (800) 924-0022. Absentee ballots must be received no later than March 23, 2023. More information will be available on our Annual Meeting page as it becomes available.

There has been an uptick in the number of scam text messages and emails this holiday season, and even continuing into the new year. I want to assure you that keeping our members’ accounts and money secure is a top priority here at WESTconsin Credit Union. The best way to protect yourself from fraud is to stay educated and vigilant. We have resources available on our website on best practices when receiving suspicious messages, emails, or letters. You can also always call our Service Center at (800) 924-0022 to verify.

We are in the midst of winter, which means more snow, and a lot of it, will continue to fall. Do you need a new snowmobile to adventure out on the local trails? Do you want to escape the snow with a tropical family vacation? Consider an Express Loan from WESTconsin. You can apply for an Express Loan in person or online in just moments and receive feedback quickly…usually within the same day!

I hope for you a fresh start with renewed energy and confidence throughout the new year. As always, if you would like to share your experiences, suggestions, or concerns, I always welcome member feedback. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected]

CEO, WESTconsin Credit Union

We exist to serve our members.

Founded in 1939, WESTconsin Credit Union is one of the region's strongest financial services provider. Our history takes us back to primarily serving the Menomonie area agricultural community, then operating as Menomonie Farmers Credit Union. We expanded in membership base over the next several years and merged with other small credit unions in the region. In the summer of 1990, we recognized this growth by changing our name to WESTconsin Credit Union.

WESTconsin Credit Union celebrated our 80th anniversary in 2019. Celebrations took place throughout the year that gave back to the credit union’s agriculture roots by partnering with local agriculture organizations and businesses. Today, our field of membership footprint includes twenty-six counties across west central Wisconsin and east central Minnesota with office locations in Altoona, Amery, Baldwin, Barron, Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, Ellsworth, Hudson, Menomonie, New Richmond, Prescott, and River Falls, Wisconsin.

The spirit and philosophy of people helping people, guides WESTconsin leaders and encourages our employees to get involved in community and charitable activities and worthwhile causes, including sponsorships, donations, and volunteerism. Throughout 2020-2021, WESTconsin was very proud to support many local initiatives, including a $5,000 pledge to help build a new playground at the Spring Valley Elementary School, a donation to the L.E. Phillips Senior Center in Eau Claire of $10,000, and $45,000 spread throughout the area to local food pantries.

WESTconsin is based in your community, owned by people like you. We seek to enrich members, communities, and employees with the resources and support to achieve financial wellness. While supporting one another, we’re Inspiring Better.

Our Mission
