Welcome & Our History
Welcome to WESTconsin!
Greetings and Happy Spring! As I write this message, the sun is shining and the birds are chirping. The warmer weather and fresh air sure do bring a feeling of excitement for the new season!
On March 30, we held our 81st Annual Membership Meeting. In light of ongoing concerns regarding COVID-19, we felt it was important to hold the meeting virtually. While we missed hosting the event in person, we were pleased with the number of members who requested ballots and participated virtually, and hope they were happy with the experience. WESTconsin is pleased to congratulate our newly appointed Board Members Sarah Noreen and Mark Dahms and extend our sincere thanks to retiring Board Member Rita Lunderville.
WESTconsin Credit Union employees continue to work hard in preparation of our technology upgrade taking place later this year! The upgrade will enhance services and create a better overall experience for our members. As a result of the upgrade, our retail offices and service center will be closed Wednesday, September 1, 2021 through Thursday, September 2, 2021. While the project is still in its mid-stages, please know that we will provide you with information as it becomes available and are committed to communicating with you about any changes that will impact your experience.
WESTconsin has always valued participating in our communities and supporting local events. Already in 2021, we have been able to make substantial contributions to the Eau Claire Senior Center, Stepping Stones of Dunn County, the new playground at the Spring Valley Elementary School, and the Ellsworth Public Library. While we are still uncertain about the plans for many summer events we have historically participated in, we look forward to supporting them whether they are held virtually or in person.
Lastly, I wanted to acknowledge that while there is no longer a mask mandate effective in Wisconsin, WESTconsin Credit Union encourages members to continue wearing a mask while visiting any of our offices. We recognize the importance of wearing masks in keeping our communities healthy and will continue to be diligent in helping stop the spread of COVID-19.
Sending you warm wishes for a pleasant and sunny Spring!

CEO, WESTconsin Credit Union
We exist to serve our members.
Founded in 1939, WESTconsin Credit Union is one of the region's strongest financial services provider. Our history takes us back to primarily serving the Menomonie area agricultural community, then operating as Menomonie Farmers Credit Union. We expanded in membership base over the next several years and merged with other small credit unions in the region.
In the summer of 1990, we recognized this growth by changing our name to WESTconsin Credit Union. Today, our field of membership footprint includes twenty-six counties across west central Wisconsin and east central Minnesota with offices in Altoona, Amery, Baldwin, Barron, Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, Ellsworth, Hudson, Menomonie, New Richmond, Prescott, River Falls and Spring Valley, Wisconsin.
We exist to serve the financial needs of our member-owners (account holders) and our communities. As a not-for-profit financial services organization, we are owned and operated by and for our members. Our members receive dividends back on a daily basis in the form of low-fee products and services. In addition, our not-for-profit status enables us to operate at a lower cost than many for-profit institutions, and helps WESTconsin offer competitive loan and savings rates to our members. We're based right here in your community, owned by community members like you. You get a higher level of personal service, and can build a long-lasting relationship with people who can help you find the best financial solutions to your unique needs.
