Kindness Counts Volunteer Event at Wisconsin Farmers Union Kamp Kenwood

WESTconsin has planned special Kindness Counts volunteer events each month in 2019 to celebrate our 80th Anniversary and picked Wisconsin Farmers Union Kamp Kenwood for the month of September. Our Chippewa Falls office along with other WESTconsin team members painted trim on three buildings and accomplished more than they thought they could get done!
Wisconsin Farmers Union’s Camp, Kamp Kenwood, was dedicated in October of 1951. It was named after the president, Kenneth Hones, whos dream was to have an educational center for rural people. The camp was built with the help of contributions from Farmers Union members, cooperatives and friends. A large amount of Farmers Union members and volunteers constructed the camp. Thousands of youth have gained a better understanding of Farmers Union and cooperatives at camp each summer. The camp carries on the aspirations of its founders as the center of education activities for everyone. The same union that created WESTconsin, created Kamp Kenwood. WESTconsin Credit Union has been serving members since 1939, and membership is open to anyone who lives or works in the Wisconsin counties of Barron, Buffalo, Burnett, Chippewa, Clark, Dunn, Eau Claire, Jackson, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Rusk, St. Croix, Sawyer, Taylor, Trempealeau, and Washburn, or the Minnesota counties of Anoka, Chisago, Dakota, Goodhue, Isanti, Pine, Ramsey, Wabasha, and Washington, with a $5 minimum deposit in a Membership Savings Account.
